This exciting opportunity is to join our Placement and Support program in the position of Key Practitioner of Carer Recruitment and Support. The primary focus for Placement and Support is the provision of a range of services to children, young people, carers and birth families involved in home based care services.

The Position:

  • To actively participate in the work undertaken to attract to the agency a broad range of volunteers who are wanting to work with the agency in the provision of high quality services in role of carers or other community support.
  • To work in conjunction with the Team Leader to ensure that the volunteers wanting to work with the agency are trained and assessed in line with agency policy, registration standards or other legislative requirements.
  • To work in conjunction with the Team Leader to ensure that once engaged in the work that the volunteer/s, having been assessed as being appropriate for, are effectively supported through ongoing contact, training and recognition to maintain their knowledge and enthusiasm for the work.
  • To work in conjunction with the Team leader to ensure that all records/databases as required are maintained (or developed as necessary) to provide accurate information to allow program development and effective work practices.

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

Required:

  • Diploma of Community Services, Youth Services or similar.
  • Full Victorian Drivers Licence.

Desirable:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work and/or related behavioural sciences at degree level.
  • Shared Lives and Step by Step Certification.
