The Program:

Rapid Response (click for more info) is an evidence-based program that aims to prevent out of home care placements through intensive support. We provide the response within 24 hours of referral and work with the family for around 4 weeks.

A safety-focused plan is developed with child protection and the family, and provides intensive, in-home support to address the crisis and immediate needs identified. You will focus on addressing the protective concerns utilising a strengths-based approach that incorporates coaching and role modelling to build on parental strengths, skills, knowledge and resources to increase the levels of safety within the home.

Your role as a senior family services practitioner:

  • High level assessments
  • Solutions focused, you need to leverage the families strengths
  • Create trust, develop open and transparent communication
  • 10-15 hours per week per family with 8 hours face to face in home work
  • Address child protection concerns, liaise with DFFH through regular meetings
  • Challenge families respectfully to stabilise crises

  • You get a salary starting at $102,554.40 plus super this is negotiable up to $107,079
  • Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
  • SCHCADS award level 6.
  • A fixed term position covering a period up until 31st July 2024.
