Family Services Practitioner (Part Time) - Werribee

Your new role:

This position involves outreach and office based work, group work and in-home skill development with the aim of strengthening parenting capacity, achieving developmental milestones and family resilience.  The position will work in the Family Services team at Werribee as part of integrated family services.

You will be supporting families with high and complex needs to address self-set goals around practical parenting, routine/schedule setting and addressing any needs including mental health concerns, drug and alcohol issues, connection to culture/community and therapeutic intervention.

The skills we are looking for:

  • Well developed assessment skills
  • The ability to effectively engage children, young people and their families,
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with families and the capacity to identify family strengths and competencies, in order to facilitate positive change. 
  • Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to reach the best outcomes for children, youth and families.
