The Development coach supports young people transitioning from the out-of-home care system up until the age of 21.
The Development coach provides individualised supports to young people both in-care and post-care across a range of life areas including housing, employment, education, community connection and health and wellbeing.
Under the Better Futures model, the Development coach offers flexible case support and secondary consultation to assist young people transition to independent living, and works with established care teams to ensure timely leaving care planning occurs.
Under the Home Stretch model, the development coach provides an accommodation allowance, case work support and flexible funding to facilitate the young person’s access to education, employment and health and wellbeing supports.
