Identify as a member of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Anglicare Victoria considers that being Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under sub-s 26(3) or s 28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).
It's important for us to provide a culturally safe and supportive environment, while exposing First Peoples youth to professional work environments that otherwise are difficult to access.
As well as the support offered directly to First People youth your role will also see you visiting sites across Victoria doing Cultural consultation with our teams so you can expect some travel requirements.
Buldau Yioohgen has some fantastic programs running throughout the year that you would be involved with such as Culture on Court, Boomerang Workshops, Basket Weaving, Art Workshops and on Country camps.
What our people say- “I feel really supported - probably the most supported I’ve ever felt in a workplace. This job can be really difficult, so if you’re supported, that’s half the battle for me. Knowing it's there means I can go out and do the work.”
