The Position:

The Cradle to Kinder program sits in a multi - disciplinary team with Integrated Family Services, and is part of the broader Outer Eastern Family Services Program. Cradle to Kinder is a whole of family service that supports vulnerable and at risk young families. The service begins with antenatal support and may continue until the child reaches four years of age. The aim of the program is to build the capacity of parents to provide for the children's health, safety and development, and support their family's self-reliance and sustainability through access to education, training and employment. The program is delivered in a consortium with Mercy Health O'Connell Family Centre and Care Inc, and covers the Outer East catchment. The role also includes referrals for generalist Integrated Family Services. 

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology and/or related behavioural science at a degree level; or associated diploma with substantial experience in the relevant service stream. 
  • Excellent understanding of the issues facing highly vulnerable young parents in their ability to ensure the safety and well being of their children, particularly the priority access groups for Cradle to Kinder.
  • Excellent skills in assertive and active engagement with vulnerable families, particularly high risk young parents who may be reluctant to receive services. 
  • Excellent knowledge of services and interventions that can address factors associated with family vulnerability and the ability to undertake multi - agency collaboration.
  • Excellent skills in risk and needs assessment and developing and implementing action plans. 

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
