The AOD Family Reunification Clinician works within a dynamic AOD & Youth Services team who are part of the Eastern Melbourne AOD catchment and work extensively with other specialist external stakeholders.
As a Family Reunification Order Practitioner, you will work with families referred by Child Protection services, focusing on parents affected by substance use who have children under family reunification or interim orders.
Your responsibilities include providing counselling and delivering Care and Recovery services, with the primary goal of addressing substance use issues to support successful family reunification.
The role is responsible for assessment and counselling, and care and recovery to parents who are required to comply with AOD treatment conditions as part of their child’s family reunification order.
The key purpose of the program is counselling with a focus on practical and emotional goal-focused support (including home-based support) to a caseload of families including children, parents and other carers. We work to reduce AOD related harms to individuals and their families by conducting assessments and providing a range of counselling and care and recovery interventions.
What our people say - “All of us have big hearts; we’re always vulnerable to getting a bit tired sometimes. I’ve found Anglicare approachable - it’s OK to say, ‘This isn’t working for me at the moment.’ There’s no judgement around that. You’re never treated like a fragile person for trying to juggle your personal life with your work life. Working for an agency that understands that and doesn’t judge you if you’re struggling means a lot.”
Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
Please apply for the role before the closing date listed.
