An exciting opportunity awaits in our Integrated Family Services Reunification program for an experienced Senior Practitioner. We seek someone with deep knowledge of child protection, coupled with a commitment to culturally empowering and trauma-responsive practices. Our program offers tailored services to empower families and enhance the well-being of children and young individuals.

As a Senior Practitioner, you'll demonstrate leadership, an ability to practice as part of the greater team and independently, and foster strong relationships with external partners whilst navigating complex issues.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Apply culturally informed practice that is focused on the child in the context of their family
  • Drive the implementation of evidence-based practice and provide expert advice in trauma informed, strength-based approaches.
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks in line with procedures
  • Facilitate collaborative relationships with the Department for Child Protection and other stakeholders to improve services, reduce barriers to accessing services and explore new opportunities.
  • Conduct specific tailored assessments, which include information based on a range of situational factors such as strengths, challenges, needs, values, etc.

What do you need to bring?

  •  A relevant tertiary degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related Social sciences at degree level, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Family Services, Child Protection, Family Violence, Adult Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs services or other related services working with vulnerable children, youth and families
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the South Australian child protection legislation, including Aboriginal Child Placement Principles, systems and sector.
  • Availability to work on occasion outside of normal business hours.
