The core mission of Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and regional, rural NSW.

We are looking for competent and experienced individuals to join our expanding Disability team on a casual basis.

Your role will be to support individuals with a disability with their individual care needs as well as the elderly to help them remain independent in their own home. The role could involve all or a combination of supporting people with social shifts in the community, helping them maintain their personal care, and assisting with domestic duties around the house. Support Workers encourage these individuals to be involved within the community and also assist in achieving their goals.

The successful applicants will have a variety of life skills, mentoring skills, high energy with a great sense of humour and ability to work casual shift work, including weekend work. The successful applicants will also be able to work cooperatively in a team environment and have excellent communication and report writing skills. Experience in working with Aboriginal people, communities and/or organisations is essential.

A certificate III in Disability or equivalent relevant qualification is desirable, applicants must have a willingness to obtain a Cert III in Disability Support.

The salary range for this position is $25.84 to $27.75 per hour plus casual loading, plus 10% employer superannuation guarantee. Generous salary packaging benefits are available under Anglicare's PBI status. Anglicare also offers other benefits including additional personal leave and paid parental leave.
