The Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) is the government-recognised professional body and registration board for music therapists in Australia. We support more than 950 Registered Music Therapists through professional standards, education, advocacy and member services. Our mission is to enable, advance and advocate for excellence in music therapy on behalf of our members and the communities they serve.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the CEO, the Education & Events Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering a national calendar of professional development and educational activities for members.

You will work closely with committees, subject matter experts and stakeholders to create engaging learning opportunities that support professional growth and ongoing competency across the profession.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a national education and professional development calendar
  • Coordinating webinars, workshops, short courses, training initiatives and various events
  • Developing and implementing a professional supervision program
  • Ensuring education activities align with accreditation and professional standards
  • Building strong relationships with presenters, educators, committees and members
  • Monitoring, evaluating and continuously improving education offerings
  • Supporting member engagement through high-quality learning opportunities.

ABOUT YOU

You are an organised and collaborative professional who enjoys managing projects, engaging stakeholders and delivering exceptional learning experiences.

You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Experience designing, coordinating and evaluating professional development, training or education programs
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and contemporary education delivery methods
  • Experience working with accreditation frameworks, competency standards or professional development requirements
  • Excellent project management, organisational and communication skills
  • Experience coordinating conferences, workshops, webinars or other professional events
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently in a remote environment.

POSITION DETAILS

Contract: 2-month contractor agreement (extension subject to funding) Hours: 15 hours per week (flexible hours, preference for Tuesday and Wednesday availability)

Location: Remote within Australia, with occasional national travel (approximately 2–3 times per year)

Remuneration: $55 per hour (inclusive of GST)

Requirements: Applicants must hold an ABN. Travel and accommodation expenses for approved travel will be covered.
