Coordinator of Volunteer Program
Support older people to stay socially connected by coordinating volunteer visitor and social support programs. Recruit, train, match and support volunteers, assess client needs, maintain program records, manage referrals, prepare reports, and build community partnerships. Ensure quality service delivery, compliance with funding and legislative requirements, and promote community engagement across designated regions.
We currently have three separate positions available:
- North West Suburbs – 15.2 hours per week
- Geelong – 15.2 hours per week
- East Suburbs – 7.6 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Assess older people for suitability within volunteer support programs.
- Recruit, screen, induct, train and support volunteers.
- Match volunteers with clients and monitor ongoing relationships.
- Develop care plans and maintain accurate client and volunteer records.
- Manage referrals through the My Aged Care portal and coordinate service delivery.
- Monitor and review volunteer-client matches, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Prepare reports, statistics and documentation required by management and funding bodies.
- Assist with grant submissions, program development and policy updates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations and referral partners.
- Promote AMCS programs within the community to increase awareness and participation.
- Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation activities.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, funding requirements and relevant legislation.
Essential Criteria
- Experience working with older people, people with disabilities, carers, or within community services.
- Experience recruiting, training, supervising and coordinating volunteers.
- Knowledge of social support services and programs for older people.
- Strong administrative, computer and report-writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with the ability to motivate and support others.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- High level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Right to work in Australia.
