  • Salary: $80,739 - $90,235per annum.
  • Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94p/a

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.

Anyinginyi Health consists of five different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit, Sports and Recreation, and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

Anyinginyi Health's mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

About the Role

The Communication and Social Media Coordinator will oversee the organisation's internal and external media channels, such as social media platforms, the organisation website, newsletters, and more. You will be responsible for developing and implementing Communication and Media strategies to promote Anyinginyi Health and the services provided, while providing media and communication guidance and skill sharing to upskill others.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Manage and prepare communication materials including media releases, newsletters, flyers, and speech notes as requested
  • Support Trainees and entry level Administration Officers to grow their skills
  • Provide support and guidance to Executive Managers around media, community engagement and communication strategies
  • Develop and implement communication strategies
  • Oversee Anyinginyi Health's communication channels including social media and intranet
  • Plan and oversee communication activities such as launches, media opportunities, and other events
  • Engage Anyinginyi Health with community and key stakeholders by developing and maintaining content across social media platforms and the website

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have proven respect for traditional Aboriginal Culture. You will have effective communication skills, and the ability to engage with stakeholders, management and other staff. You must have advanced computer skills, experience and/or qualifications in media/communications/social media, and experience using a range of software programs/packages. You must have high attention to detail, and demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and teamwork

Desirable Skills and Experience (Not Essential):

  • Experience in web maintenance and developing and/or managing the implementation of social media communication frameworks
  • Have or be prepared to undertake a qualification and training in social media and communications (Cert IV, Diploma in Media, Communications, or similar)
