Level 3 ($68,724), depending on experience and qualifications. Plus 11% superannuation

About this role

We’re looking for someone to join our team of campaign coordinators to support Victorian Greens campaigns in the lead up to the next Federal and Local Government elections. Using your skills in project management, event organising and stakeholder management you will create systems to manage campaign operations as well as our volunteers, campaigners and candidates. As a part of a team that runs training, inducts new candidates, and keeps volunteers up-to-date about campaign logistics and timelines, you will ensure our teams are skilled up and motivated to win big in the next elections. Your logistical skills and attention to detail will ensure the Victorian Greens campaign team is well-organised and delivering high-standard work on time.

Position description

In this role you will be a part of a team that will:

• Manage campaign relationships: Support our volunteers, campaign teams and candidates using scalable systems for recruitment, information sharing and problem solving.
• Project manage digital and materials creation: Project manage the creation of advertising, print materials, web pages, social media assets and more.
• Coordinate training and leadership programs : Project manage training sessions, fellowship programs, and major training events, to build the capacity of our volunteers, campaigners and candidates.
• Organise events: Lead on running events like skill sharing webinars, data parties, and debriefs, and assist the Campaign Manager with the organisation of large events like campaign launches, community forums and fundraising dinners.
• Other work as needed: as a part of a small, agile team, you will be asked to contribute to other work from time-to-time, always with the support of experienced staff

Key selection criteria

• Values alignment: Commitment to the Greens policies, charter and core values: ecological sustainability, grassroots participatory democracy, social justice and peace and non-violence - and a passion for our movement.
• Project management: Experience delivering on complex projects to tight timelines and possess creative problem solving skills
• Team work/relationship management skills: Experience in working in various teams, including working well with others, having a friendly attitude in difficult conversations and an openness to build the capacity of others.
• Training and capacity building: Planning and running training sessions, leadership programs, or coaching activists to grow their ability to campaign.
• Outcomes-driven: Demonstrated experience in solving problems, meeting goals and achieving results under time pressure.
• Attention to detail: Detail oriented, you will be able to pick up mistakes; whether it is an incorrect delivery address, a missing form, or a Greens policy to be considered.

Bonus points for:

• Lived experience or connections to First Nations justice, racial justice, LGBTQIA+ justice, disability justice or gendered justice movements.
• Systems experience: Experience using systems such as contact databases and mass email tools, including Drupal, CiviCRM and Rocket (or similar).
• Event management: Demonstrated experience in planning and running successful events.
• Political campaigning experience: A working understanding of political or social change campaigning as a staff, volunteer or grassroots activist
• Working with volunteers: Experience in a volunteer- or member-led organisation
