This is a part time (3 days per week) fixed term (12 months) role. Potential for contract extension and increase of days depending on changes to student numbers.
A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent is an essential requirement for this role.
AFL SportsReady is a national not for profit company that has facilitated employment and education for thousands of young Australians since 1994. While having a history of excellence in the football industry, we now work across sectors including the arts and creative industries, education, business and the broader sports and recreation to create education and employment opportunities for young people across Australia.
Our Queensland office is located in Brisbane, and supported by AFL SR’s head office which is located in Melbourne. SportsReady Education is the education arm of AFL SportsReady and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), specialising in traineeship education delivery. Each year, we deliver training to over 450 trainees across the country encompassing Business, Sport & Recreation, Elite Athletes, and Finance.
We are seeking an experienced and appropriately qualified Business educator who is passionate about helping us to make a difference to people through our education and employment programs. An ability to deliver Sport and Recreation education is also desirable (but not mandatory).
The purpose of this role is to deliver accredited education and to support the safe and successful completion of trainees (large proportion of case load are school based trainees). This role also involves managing program and student administration. This position may involve providing some interstate support to other teams, primarily via video conference however infrequent interstate travel may be required.
A week in the life of this role could involve delivering workshops either online or in person (COVID-19 safety protocols permitting), making visits to trainees at their workplaces to deliver one on one education, and organising trainee administration such as marking, assessment, as well as updating trainee records on our student management system. It is a diverse, varied and hands-on role which provides an opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of young people through Education and Employment.
