About the opportunity

We are currently looking to fill Full-Time and Part-Times roles.  

We are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers who want to be part of an innovative, passionate not for profit organisation whose primary focus is to support people with disabilities to lead exceptional, joy filled lives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality daily support to customers who have varying needs with a variety of disabilities, which includes personal care, manual handling and light domestic duties.
  • Utilise administrative skills to document customer records.
  • Comply with NDIS requirements and follow individual service and healthcare plans.
  • Communicate effectively with your customers their carers and families.
  • Ensure all Afford policies and procedures including WH&S are adhered to.
  • Other duties as directed by the Team Leader.

About the candidate

  • Minimum qualification: Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care or Community Services.  
  • Experience working with people with varying degrees of disability and behaviours. Ability to address triggers and redirect.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Australian [NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA] driver’s licence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Up to date COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster shot if eligible. Evidence of vaccination status will be required as part of the recruitment process.
