Aeon Media Group Ltd is a not-for-profit global digital publishing and live events company based in Melbourne. We publish the highly successful Aeon and Psyche magazines to a large international audience and present the Sophia Club, live philosophy and arts events in Melbourne, London and New York. We are preparing to open a permanent home for Sophia Club in Collingwood, Melbourne in 2027.
The Audience Growth Lead is responsible for driving audience acquisition and expanding the global reach of Aeon and Psyche magazines, as well as Sophia Club.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing, this role leads the distribution and promotion of all published content, ensuring it reaches the widest possible audience through high-quality execution, audience-focused channel strategy and continuous optimisation. This role has responsibility for growing audiences, increasing content reach and identifying new opportunities for audience acquisition across social, partnerships, search, campaigns and emerging platforms.
You will be a senior member of the team, working closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications to implement marketing strategies and grow our brands.
We’re looking for an experienced, strategic and highly proactive growth marketing specialist with a strong interest in ideas, writing and cultural publishing. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who combines excellent marketing judgement with a deep understanding of digital audience growth, content distribution and performance optimisation.
You’ll be responsible for driving new user growth and expanding the reach of Aeon and Psyche’s editorial content and Sophia Club events to a large global audience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience developing and implementing growth-focused marketing strategies across social, partnerships, campaigns, paid acquisition and emerging channels, ideally within publishing, media, cultural or mission-driven organisations.
You are highly organised, data-aware and commercially minded, with strong copy instincts and a sophisticated understanding of how audiences engage with digital content across platforms.
