Adaptability Therapy is a leading private Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy practice in South East Queensland working with children, young people and adults with disability. We provide a wide variety of services, supports and therapy including home modifications, assistive equipment and technology prescription and therapeutic supports aimed at building capacity and developing life skills.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join the team on a permanent basis. This role is community based and you will be working with a diverse caseload with a strong focus on genuine capacity building with individuals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a passion for working with people of all ages and abilities and is looking to make a difference in their lives.

The successful candidate will have access to supervision and mentoring with several Senior Occupational Therapists, offering an excellent opportunity to develop their clinical skills across a wide range of practice areas.

Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor / Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist, and a commitment to maintain registration
  • Minimum of four years clinical experience, with at least two years experience specifically in a position with a mental health focus
  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience and knowledge of contemporary, evidence based Occupational Therapy practice in areas including assessment and living skills development for clients with psychosocial disability
  • Ability to work independently on a day to day basis
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • A professional, warm, flexible and open attitude
  • Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain
  • Ability and willingness to drive as the role requires
  • Successful Working with Children and Police checks and full work rights to work in Australia
