We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team as an After Hours Manager.

Full-time and part-time opportunities available.

About the role

This onsite role provides clinical and operational leadership across Achieve services outside the standard business hours through a centralised on-call function and after-hours management.

The role is responsible for real-time decision-making, clinical guidance, workforce coordination and risk management after hours to ensure safe, consistent and person-centred service delivery across the organisation.

Candidates should be able to start as per below shift requirements:

Full Time hours: Monday – Thursday 10pm - 6am and Friday 10pm - 8am

Part time hours: Saturday and Sunday: 4pm - 11pm or 11pm - 8am

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of escalation and senior decision-maker for clinical, safety, and service delivery matters.
  • Oversee after hour operations
  • Proactively identify and manage after hours risk, and support staff before issues escalate.
  • Provide remote supervision and guidance to both nursing and non-nursing staff.
  • Coordinate and report critical incidents occurring outside of business hours, ensuring timely documentation, notification and escalation.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and structured handover of overnight issues, risks, and actions to relevant Service Managers and operations leaders to support continuity of care and service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Extensive experience working in disability, community or complex support environments with a strong understanding of NDIS, active support and human rights-based practice.
  • Experience managing diverse disability support or equivalent services including multi-site accommodation service, day programs, and community participation.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating staffing resources, including managing unplanned leave or workforce shortages in complex services.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading operational responses in high-risk or time-critical situations, including incident management, escalation, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • You have a deep understanding of complex disability, behaviour support and management.
  • Advanced decision-making skills with a proven ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions, and manage competing priorities in a high-risk, after-hours environment.
  • You are highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
