Who is the ACF?

When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.

We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.

Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, koalas snoozing in big old trees or for strong climate action, our dedicated community of more than half a million people are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.

What’s the gig?

Are you ready to be part of a bold, people-powered campaign to protect Australia’s nature and the people that rely on it? The Field Organiser (Nature) roles are your opportunity to drive real change by mobilising communities and likely and unlikely allies, to fix Australia’s broken nature laws.

In these newly created roles, you’ll run a ground campaign in key locations in WA or NSW and nationally, working with everyday Australians to create a visible wave of support for strong nature protections.

You will be working with leaders and community groups to deliver tactics that build power in WA/NSW and nationally. We’ve got plans to win big for nature and climate and you’ll be leading the charge on the ground, in this outward facing role.

Together with the Organising team you’ll recruit and empower community members to host impactful events, meet with MPs, and take meaningful action both online and offline to influence decision-makers and protect nature that we all rely upon.

No two days will be the same. You’ll build community power to help shape a national movement that puts nature at the heart of Australia’s future.

If you’re a natural leader, passionate about nature and about people-powered change, we’d love to hear from you.

About you!

With experience in community organising or community campaigning, you’re excited about this opportunity to make an impact as you believe that everyday people have the power to change things—for the better—for the places, wildlife and people we love.

You’re a people person who loves talking to others in person and on the phone, discovering what makes them tick. You get your energy from being out in communities, building people power on the ground.

You are an excellent and persuasive communicator who has experience building community support and cross-movement alliances to achieve shared goals. You have experience in engaging and managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

You have a fail-fast mentality and are comfortable working in uncertainty within a collaborative, committed, supportive and fun team.

You’re a clear, persuasive communicator—capable of inspiring supporters, aligning people around shared objectives.

Why work for us?

You’ll do important work with one of Australia’s most impactful organisations, and with our world-class organisational culture and great team, we guarantee you’ll have fun along the way.
