The Position

We are recruiting a Research and Evaluation Officer to join our Policy, Research and Partnerships Department. This is a parental leave replacement for a 12-month period from December 2021. Please note that this position based in Melbourne, Australia.

This role is responsible for undertaking a range of research and evaluation activities that will inform the College’s work in advocacy and policy development so that we can make a real difference to health system reform, address systematic challenges within Emergency Medicine, and influence healthcare outcomes for vulnerable and diverse populations within Australia and New Zealand.

The Research and Evaluation Officer coordinates evaluation projects, including detailed planning, data collection, implementation, analysis and reporting as well as supporting other research activities of Unit as they relate to Emergency Medicine.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated capabilities in conducting evaluation projects, including project design, data collection, analysis and the interpretation of data.
  • Strong research, qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and proficiency in statistical and database programs (e.g., SPSS, STATA, NVIVO, MS SQL Server).
  • A proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to present data in an engaging form to any audience.
