About the College

The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the training, assessment and continuing professional development of emergency physicians as well as the advancement of professional standards in emergency medicine in Australia and New Zealand.

The Position

We are seeking to appoint a Project Manager, Education Assessment, on a Full-Time basis for a Fixed-Term period until 30 June 2025. The primary purpose of this role is to provide expert advice, underpinned by evidence-based and contemporary best practices, on strategic projects related to the examination and summative assessment of ACEM trainees. 

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing expert advice to and coordinate the activities of the Assessment Improvement Reference Group.
  • Review and develop improvement strategies for ACEM assessors and assessing entities to determine opportunities for improvement, and design, implement and evaluate programs for assessor development and appraisal.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate projects designed to support candidates in successfully completing ACEM examinations.

To be successful in this role you will require the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications, ideally postgraduate, in education.
  • Understanding of the development and implementation of adult education programs at a tertiary or post-tertiary level.
  • Demonstrated experience in the critical appraisal of published data, especially that pertaining to summative assessment, and associated synthesis skills.
  • Ability to compose discussion papers and reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
