The Position

We have an exciting opportunity within our Workforce and Rural Health Equity team and wider Policy, Research and Partnerships department.

As a Project Manager, Accredited Training Networks, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a Federal Government-funded project to establish and pilot two accredited regional and rural integrated emergency medicine training networks that aim to increase and strengthen the quality of education and training opportunities for regional and rural based specialist medical trainees.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Oversee the delivery of the Accredited Networks Pilot Project and ensure all strategic objectives are met as per approved timelines.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of all project documentation, governance arrangements and budgeting requirements, as per the ACEM Project Management Framework.
  • Coordinate the project stream leads representing workforce, accreditation, education, communications, technology and infrastructure packages of work for the project.
  • Work collaboratively with the project sponsor, project steering group members and Board, Council, and committee members to progress actions relevant to the Accredited Networks Pilot Project.
  • Liaison with other College entities and staff, as required.
  • Provide management and leadership to project contractors and the Project Officers, Accredited Training Networks, in the preparation of reports to entities and the Department of Health and Aged Care and other external bodies as required.

To be successful in this role you will require the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:

  • A solid understanding of the health sector and medical training
  • Large-scale project management experience
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects within scheduled timeframes and budgets
  • Experience with government reporting
  • Stakeholder and contract management
  • Experience in resource allocation
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation
  • Have good attention to detail
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Be comfortable on the phone
  • Be motivated and be able to drive yourself and those around you
  • Be well organised

This is a Full-time Fixed-Term position for 2 years based at our head office in West Melbourne or with the option to work remotely.
