Imagine starting your week with a call from a small charity helping young people find their feet, and ending it by helping a community advocacy organisation prepare for their next board meeting. That’s the kind of variety this role brings.
As our Fractional CFO / Client Account Manager, you’ll be the trusted financial partner for a portfolio of not for profit clients - the person they call when they need clarity, confidence, or just someone who truly understands the nuances of running a mission driven organisation. You’ll bring strategic financial thinking, not just technical know how, and you’ll work alongside a warm and experienced AFG accounting team who’ll have your back.
You’ll take on an existing client portfolio from day one, with room to grow it over time. New client onboarding and short-term projects are also part of the mix, so no two weeks look exactly the same.
This is a full time, hybrid role - most of the time you’ll work from wherever you do your best thinking, with occasional travel to Sydney to connect with the team and clients in person.
You’ll report directly to Carol, our Co-CEO.
For over 25 years Accounting For Good has been supporting our NFP clients with financial management expertise so they can focus on delivering their organisation’s mission. Accounting For Good was established by not for profit leaders who felt the gap in their finance departments and built our service to help build capacity across the sector.
We work only with not for profit organisations, supporting them to operate, report and plan effectively. We see ourselves as partners with our clients as they strive to achieve their mission, and take pride in providing high quality financial information to assist decision-making. We get the nuance of being a non-profit, and especially understand what boards need to know, and what managers need to understand, in order to make sound decisions.

Accounting For Good is a Xero Advisor Certified Practice and our team includes qualified Chartered Accountants, Certified Practising Accountants and Xero Certified accountants and bookkeepers, ensuring that accounting and reporting are of the highest standard.
AFG works flexibly between home and our dedicated office in WeWork's Sydney hub at 320 Pitt Street - sometimes we come together in the office but much of the time the team works super-productively from home.
If you love sitting in an office posting journal entries, this is not the job for you. While we are looking for strong technical expertise, this is a role for an advisor, not a technician.
