Position Overview

The Coordinator is a vital position within ACSL with the purpose of this position to manage a specific program within the Access Employment and Training Division. This role will be responsible for the recruitment of participants, provide case management, employment placement and post placement support of participants once they have been placed into sustainable employment.

This position will entail liaising with government departments and agencies as we as other organisations and employers to ensure that the delivery of this program is in line with contract requirements. The role will also include but is not limited to business development with employers, either Corporate, small to medium enterprises and or government and non-government agencies.

You will be required to produce reports assigned by government bodies and other agencies as well as work within a team environment, which will support the ACSL business group to develop new economic participation programs that align with ACSL's strategic direction.

This position will also require the ability to support, mentor and guide program participants to resolve any issues or barriers that they have to education, training and employment throughout the duration of the program and post program support requirements.

This is a full-time fixed term position based in Logan Central.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding and empathy, regarding the needs and barriers experienced by participants
  • Overall coordination of the program including recruitment of eligible participants, marketing and promotion.
  • Reverse marketing and cold calling employers to secure employment vacancies
  • Negotiate content of industry specific pre-employment training
  • Proactively build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Build positive relationships with local businesses and employers
  • Develop and maintain tailored employment pathway plans
  • Assist with resumes, cover letters and job applications
  • Provide job seekers with the tools and confidence to re-enter the workforce
  • Manage employer vacancies including; vacancy assessment, advertising, screening and vetting, referring and representing suitable candidates
  • Following and adhering to contract guidelines in relation to the program including but not limited to ACSL associated documents, policies and procedures
  • Negotiate the delivery of industry specific pre-employment programs with Registered Training Organisations
  • Market and promote programs to external agencies in order to grow the sustainability of the programs and enterprises.
  • Support training providers to facilitate any placement/work experience opportunities that will benefit the outcomes of the participant to complete their training and offer employment opportunities

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Develop, implement and monitor systems/program reviews and services improvements
  • Provide monthly reports to the Executive Manager detailing the nature and quality of services delivered and outcomes
  • Generate a minimum of 30 vacancies for local employers, to prepare a minimum of 30 people to fill vacancies and to provide post placement support to the employer and the employee to sustain employment in the long term
  • Develop strong partnerships with external stakeholders to increase engagement of programs associated with the role
  • Facilitate training and professional development
  • Evidence of proven ability to achieve employment outcomes for clients and meet contractual KPI's
  • Provide positive and friendly customer service to ensure positive feedback
  • A Paid Blue Card or ability to acquire one;
  • A current Yellow Card Exemption or National Worker Screening Check or ability to acquire one.
