Position Overview

The Finance Officer (Accounts Payable/Receivable) is responsible for a number of duties in support of the Finance Department. This includes working with other Finance Officers in providing a sound administrative platform for the department's operations

This is a full-time fixed term position expiring on 24 December 2020.

Key Responsibilities

  • AP function entering invoices, preparation of bank files for payment, opening supplier accounts, analysis
  • AR function following up on outstanding invoices for payment
  • Credit Card reconciliations
  • Administration of electronic and manual filing systems for the Finance Department.
  • Assist with Audits.
  • Maintain appropriate records and reporting in accordance with Funding contract, Service Excellence Program requirements and industrial legislation requirements
  • Meeting month end reporting timeframes
  • Providing administrative support to Finance
  • General administration
  • Undertake other duties as required

Selection Criteria

To be successful you must possess:

  • High level of competency in Excel
  • Demonstrated MYOB competencies at a transaction level (AP, AR, Banking)
  • 2-4 years experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general accounting.
  • Experience with reconciliation of information systems such as general ledger accounts and payroll subsystems.
  • Working knowledge of Government Funding acquittal requirements.
  • Comprehensive self-management, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic setting, able to work autonomously, and interpersonal skills to work within small team environments
  • Minimum Cert IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting experience or qualifications

  • Drivers License
  • National Police Check or ability to obtain one
