The Organisation

Our Client is a National, multi-faceted organisation that works with the most disadvantaged in the community. This role is with both Life Skills Programs (Centre Based) and Specialist Accommodation Services (Group Homes). This organisation has been around for more than 100 years and they have over 20 years in Disability Services. They are a large not-for-profit organisation who lives by doing their best for their community members.

The Role

The Operations Manager will see you providing strategic and operational leadership for the Service coordinators team and the broader the Life Skills Programs and Specialist Accommodation Services. As part of the executive team, you will lead business-critical project initiatives and an ambitious change agenda to deliver leading quality, experience and operating improvements.

Highly complex in nature, this position will call on you to harness and apply your well-honed stakeholder abilities to manage, influence and obtain alignment across various functions, as well as ensuring the voice of our employees and customers are considered in program, service and operational ways of working design and practice.

As the Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the evaluation, prioritisation, resource allocation and governance leading to the successful delivery of strategic programs. Further, you will contribute to Disabilities Services’ overall operational health and strategic planning direction.

The Successful Candidate

Essential:

  • High knowledge and understanding with experience working within disability services
  • Extensive experience in a frontline management role with direct reports
  • Strong leadership skills and be able to empower a team to do their roles to their full potential
  • The ability to work independently as well as a team
  • Active listening skills and problem-solving skills
  • Tertiary Qualification in Social Work or Human Services or Management
  • Stakeholder management skills and experience
  • Organisation development skills and strategic planning
  • Comprehensive understanding of building and monitoring budgets
  • Driver Licence and confidence with driving across Sydney

Desirable:

  • Policy and Procedure change management
  • Previous experience in organisations in the Not for Profit industry
