abrs are excited to be partnering exclusively with a well-respected not-for-profit organisation that has been serving the Nepean and Blue Mountains region since the 1980s, with a strong track record of high staff engagement and positive community outcomes.
We are currently looking for four experienced Practitioners to join a well-established, evidence-based family therapy team supporting children and families at risk of entering out-of-home care.
These full-time roles (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday) are based in Penrith, with travel allocated across the Nepean and Lower Blue Mountains region.
In this role, you will work intensively with 7–8 families at a time, delivering structured, home-based therapy using a recognised family preservation model. The work focuses on strengthening family functioning, improving communication, and supporting safe, sustainable home environments.
You’ll collaborate closely with schools, community services, and statutory stakeholders, while being well supported through clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
There is no on-call requirement, however flexibility is essential as sessions often take place in the evenings. Start and finish times are adjusted accordingly, with a strong culture of trust and flexibility within the team.
Applicants must be available to commence employment in February and March.
Please note that you must complete the initial training for this program (the first three days) before commencing a caseload. This is an online module and requires a quiet, focused environment to complete. The first module is delivered virtually and interactively, using online platforms where you will engage with trainers, learn core concepts, and begin building the skills you will use when working with families.
abrs is Australia’s only charity-owned, not-for-profit recruitment agency, with 100% of our net revenue returned to fund programs that support children, youth, and families.
When you work with abrs, you’re engaging in an ethical recruitment process that directly funds vital programs in the community.
Our Commitment to Reconciliation abrs acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians of the land. We are committed to working respectfully and in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, guided by the principles of self-determination. We support the rights of children to remain connected to family, culture, and Country.
