About ABCN:

The Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN) is a not-for-profit organisation that partners education with business through mentoring programs for students from high-needs schools. Entirely business-funded and based on a membership model, ABCN is made up of over 40 member companies that represent a breadth of industries and include well-recognised, national and global organisations. We are led by an experienced body of CEOs who actively participate in business and education partnerships and support their employees to do the same. Together we share a common vision to create positive change in the community.

Our focus is to improve opportunities and outcomes for students, partnering with business to inspire students to reach their potential. This is achieved through structured programs that involve business professionals mentoring students in a digital and corporate environment. Our programs help students develop the skills, mindsets, aspirations and professional connections to achieve more than they thought was possible.

Why you’ll love working at ABCN:

  • We have a collaborative and positive working culture.
  • We support flexible working arrangements across our team.
  • We were named as one of the top 10 most innovative organisations in the 2021 AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies List
  • We are a committed and passionate team from a range of corporate and NFP backgrounds, dedicated to improving educational outcomes for young people from low SES backgrounds.

Why you’ll love this role:

  • Reporting to our NSW State Manager and working with a team of other Program Managers, you’ll be the face of ABCN for our students, schools and mentors from member companies.
  • You’ll use your outstanding communication and administrative skills to schedule, coordinate and deliver our mentoring programs and see first-hand the huge impact on students and mentors.
  • You’ll use your passion for building relationships with diverse groups to deepen our partnerships and grow our network of schools and mentors.

Key responsibilities:

This includes delivering content and managing the energy and attention of participants. For now, many of our programs are online, but travel to schools and member companies will be required for face-to-face programs, digital support and relationship management.
  • Account management: Relationships are at the heart of what we do at ABCN. You will build on and grow our relationships with schools, member companies, facilitators and others who help us to deliver on our mission. You’ll deliver briefings, provide guidance and support and gather feedback and data.
  • Risk management: Following national guides, adhering to compliance and risk guidelines and maintaining a child safe environment. You will understand child protection, and child safety will underpin everything you do.
  • Team collaboration: Working effectively in our NSW team under the direction of our NSW State Manager, and working collaboratively with our National team of Program Managers.
  • ABCN values: Upholding our ABCN values within our team and with our external partners.
