About the role

This is a full time, permanent opportunity on our 24/7 National Dementia Helpline and the working days for this role are Tuesday to Saturday. Reporting directly to the National Manager, Helpline you will be responsible for:

  • Managing day to day operations of the Helpline team with a focus on meeting client needs and providing a high level of client service and client satisfaction
  • Managing the rostering function in accordance with the operational needs of the helpline and assisting with the implementation of administrative procedures that aim at enhancing the efficiency of program requirements
  • Leading, supervising, supporting and developing staff so they undertake their work in accordance with organisational and program priorities, policy and procedures and achieve KPIs. This includes providing on call support when needed.

Salary benefits: we offer all employees the opportunity to salary package up to $15,900 each year for living expenses and up to $2,650 each year for entertainment benefits.

Leave allowances: in addition to an annual leave allowance of 20 days (pro-rated if part-time), you will also receive three days paid end of year closure leave, one day paid birthday leave, up to six weeks parental leave and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:

  • Experience in team leadership including mentoring and developing people in a positive inclusive manner
  • Experience leading a team in a telephone service or call centre environment
  • Experience working with people with dementia as well as carers and families and an understanding of relevant Service Systems, including My Aged Care and the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • A high level or verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (health/allied health/social services sectors)
