The Position:

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for delivering timely and accurate accounts receivable, banking and month-end processes, while supporting financial compliance, reporting, and audit activities. The role works closely with the Finance team to ensure efficient financial operations and high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Manage Salesforce Finance Team queue and assign actions.
  • Reconcile receipts across CBA, SecurePay, and Salesforce
  • Process member and client refunds.
  • Process advertising, workshop, education, and other service invoices.
  • Follow up outstanding customer payments.
  • Maintain product codes, pricing, and AR contacts in Xero.
  • Send invoicing reminders to staff before end-of-financial-year deadlines.
  • Perform bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
  • Top up credit cards & create new credit cards, close old credit cards
  • Perform bank transfers as per cash flow
  • Accurately processing all credit cards transactions
  • End of month transactions
  • Prepare BAS/Taxes

Key selection criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
  • Studying towards CPA or CA qualifications (desirable)
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Firm grasp and understanding of accounting principles;
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Xero and Microsoft software;
    Team based approach to leadership
  • Able to handle periods of high workload, meet deadlines and tolerate pressure
  • Professionally presented & willing to learn new skills
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving skills, willing to get into details

Desirable requirements:

  • Advance Excel skills
  • Experienced in database systems (input & output) accounting principles
  • SME Accounting experience
  • Fathom Reporting preferred
  • Salesforce familiarity preferred
