Youth Off The Streets is a non-denominational community organisation working for disadvantaged young people who may be homeless, drug dependent and / or recovering from abuse. Youth Off The Streets supports these young people as they work to turn their lives around and overcome immense personal trauma such as neglect, physical, psychological and / or emotional abuse. It is our goal that these young people will leave our care drug free, with a high school education, living skills and a full time or part time job in hand.
Youth Off The Streets is looking for a School Chaplain to work as a member of the school’s wellbeing team in the delivery of student wellbeing services in accordance with the National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP) guidelines.
Working across Youth Off The Streets schools (predominately Redfern, Macquarie Fields and Merrylands), you will be responsible for providing pastoral care and guidance services to support the emotional wellbeing of students as well as developing strategies and new exciting opportunities that support the wellbeing of the broader school community – volunteering activities, workshops, excursions, and school incursions.
This is a maximum term part time position working three days per week, with travel between sites required.

In addition to meeting the NSCP’s minimum qualification requirements, you must also demonstrate that you are recognised as a Chaplain for the purposes of the NSCP.
A valid and current NSW Working With Children Check, Drivers Licence and Senior First Aid Certificate are required for this role.
Experience working in an alternative education environment and ability to integrate technology effectively into programs, along with training in Restorative Practices, Courageous Conversations, Trauma Informed Practices and Cultural awareness are desirable qualities.
