About YSAS

Youth Support + Advocacy Service (YSAS) is Australia’s largest and most comprehensive, youth specific community service organisation that enables young people experiencing serious disadvantage to access the resources and support they require to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

YSAS provides a range of health and welfare services that enable young people and families to overcome problems associated with substance use, mental health and behaviours such as offending and deliberate self-harm. We provide practical support and evidence based clinical services for young people experiencing serious problems, but also intervene as early as possible with those at risk to prevent problems from escalating and becoming entrenched.

About the position

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be actively supporting young people to achieve their individual goals and provide them assistance with daily activities. You will be working a variety of shifts (day, evening or overnight) in our 24/7 residential withdrawal unit so knowledge and experience of AOD withdrawal and health care is a must.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Experience in working with young people with complex needs in a withdrawal setting
  • Demonstrated understanding of care planning and review approaches
  • Highly developed engagement and communication skills with young people from a range of backgrounds and age groups, including ability to motivate young people
  • Demonstrated skills in written communication, including report writing, case notes and data recording

For full details of the position, please view the Position Description below or visit our website at www.ysas.org.au.

If you are looking for a rewarding role where you can use your skills and experience to help disadvantaged young people and share YSAS’ vision for a community where all young people are valued, included and have every opportunity to thrive, we would love to hear from you.
