People and Culture (P&C) Advisor

Our team is growing and with that comes an opportunity to join the Y Canberra Region’s People and Culture Team. With plenty of new projects on the horizon, 2022 is going to be an exciting time to be part of our P&C Team!

We are looking for a P&C Advisor with a strong HR generalist background to assist in delivering HR services to the Y Canberra Region. The P&C Advisor works closely with the P&C Manager and our Y Leaders to provide advice on all areas of HR. They enable growth in people capability, support with the development of leadership skills, assist with the management of employee issues and drive key behaviours.

Essential to this role is the ability to build trust and stakeholder engagement. With your service-orientated approach, drive and motivation, you will seek to collaborate and support our people with initiatives, engagement, projects and culture. You are able to demonstrate empathy when dealing with sensitive situations and maintain conviction around organisational priorities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to work as a team to provide operations HR services, projects and initiatives
  • Contribute to the annual People and Culture employee survey and strategy
  • Experience in providing advice and support on employee relations matters, grievances and professional conduct where appropriate
  • Development and maintenance of policies, procedures and templates.
  • Develop HR data and analytics to support the strategic direction of the organisation
  • Participate and contribute to various HR projects and initiatives
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • High levels of integrity and professionalism when dealing with confidential information
