THE ROLE

Program Coordinator, Communities for Children is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of Whitelion’s Junior RISE program, a supported high school transition program for young people at risk in years 6 and 7 in the Campbelltown LGA.

They will work collaboratively with Campbelltown Communities for Children partners, schools, students, and parents/carers to develop individualised learning goals that support students to gain a strong foundation in education, increasing their confidence to engage and learn.

In addition to working with young people, they will provide case planning and support for families, providing parents with a greater understanding of their young person’s emotional experiences while teaching specific skills that can assist parents in being supportive and empathetic, increasing connection and improving emotional communication in the family.

You're passionate about working with and supporting young people, you see the unique potential and perspective that they bring and you deeply understand the relationship between school, community and family in bringing out their full potential and realising opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in education, youth work, social work, social sciences or similar is required.
  • Training in relevant child protection legislation.
  • A current working with children check and driver's license (and willingness to undergo a Whitelion Police Check)
