Your Role

  • Lead, inform and develop the strategy to address the health workforce needs across our region.
  • Establish and maintain relationships / partnerships to inform the GP training places in the region.
  • Oversee the delivery of quality continuing professional development (CPD) activities for primary healthcare practitioners in our region.

The Manager Primary Care Workforce Partnerships and Development provides leadership to the Primary Care Workforce Partnerships and Development Team and oversight into the development of strategies to support a sustainable primary care workforce. This includes (but is not limited to) oversight of CPD activities, maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholder groups, and producing qualitative and quantitative reports.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the ability to think critically with exceptional skills in relationship development and proven experience in management and leadership. Our ideal candidate will possess highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to develop reports, inform planning and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. An understanding of the challenges and opportunities of GP training within the Australian context is highly desirable but not essential.

Remuneration:

$106,737* (potential maximum grossed up salary equivalent $116,508**)

*Dependant on skills and experience

**Based on NFP salary packaging tax benefits (which may be subject to criteria)

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent targeted experience in Health, Business or related field to perform duties.
  • Proven experience in managing, coaching and guiding employees to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Proven advocacy, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Extensive experience in scoping, planning, monitoring, reporting on, and evaluating relevant projects.
  • Demonstrated experience of engaging and collaborating with stakeholders related to emerging medical workforce training programs.
  • Experience with interpreting evidence and developing reports to inform planning and strategic decisions
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written with a high degree of competency in the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) and the emerging challenges and opportunities related to achieving high quality, distributed GP training in Australia.

This position is full-time and is funded until June 2025. Future employment is subject to ongoing funding.
