Manager - Mental Health Service Development

About the role

The Manager will lead and oversee the successful design, commissioning and contract management of community based adult mental health and suicide prevention services with the aim of enabling community members to access the mental health and wellbeing supports they need when they require them.

Initially this role will focus on commissioning a new adult mental health centre in Penrith NSW.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication, project management and stakeholder engagement skills with previous success managing a team. A background or experience in mental health will be highly regarded but not essential.

Requirements

Essential requirements:

  • Highly developed communication, networking, presentation and engagement skills.
  • Previous experience in building and establishing new partnerships and opportunities through strategic communication strategies.
  • Proven experience in managing, coaching and guiding employees to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Previous demonstrated knowledge and skills to make authoritative judgements and responsibilities as a program owner.
  • Proven experience in managing the risks and outcomes of multiple projects on multiple levels across an organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent targeted experience in health, management, Project Management or similar.

Desirable requirements:

  • Knowledge and/or experience of the primary care mental health reform environment in Australia.

This position is full-time and is funded until June 2023. Future employment is subject to ongoing funding.
