An exciting opportunity awaits a Home Care Packages Support Workers to join our team in operating in the suburbs of Dandenong and Ringwood.

Responsibilities

As a Home Care Packages Support Worker at Vision Australia you will:

  • Assisting consumers with domestic tasks such as laundry, ironing, meal preparation, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, bed linen changes, bath, toilet and shower cleaning and reaching up to cupboards;
  • Assisting consumers with shopping, paying accounts, monitoring consumers safety and well-being, transferring consumers from chair to bed/chair and supporting consumers when unstable with mobility;
  • Complying with the Care Workers Manual
  • Working with the Team Leader in ensuring the client’s services are being delivered correctly and in accordance with their wishes

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Aged Care (Essential)
  • Specialist knowledge of Dementia Care
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate or current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate, or the willingness to undertake studies to achieve this minimum
  • Able to travel independently, with majority of clients around Ferntree Gully area
  • Must have a commitment to supporting elderly people in their home and an understanding the importance of the HCP program
