Victim Support Service is a not-for-profit community-based organisation that has a lead role in providing services to victims of crime in South Australia. We currently provide services in Adelaide and 7 regional areas.

About the role

A rare opportunity has arisen for a manager to join our team, playing a vital role in managing the day-to-day effectiveness of our programs.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Client Services, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Coordinators providing frontline services for victims of crime and domestic violence throughout South Australia. You will oversee the development and delivery of programs, including supporting the implementation of effective service delivery, budget setting and reporting.

A key part of the role is ensuring that structures and systems support the achievement of our organisation's goals and that a continuous improvement culture is in place across teams and programs.

This is a full time contract role until June 2020, with opportunity for extension.

What we are looking for:

You are experienced in the community sector with some exposure to trauma counselling and bring with you a supportive management style, optimism and passion for what you do. You are confident to have difficult discussions, enjoy problem solving and want to work in an environment where your work makes a real difference.

You will also bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Services such as Social Work, Psychology or Counselling
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the community sector
  • Experience with domestic violence and clients experiencing complex trauma
  • A knowledge of the criminal justice system will be a distinct advantage

This position requires flexibility in working hours and work outside of normal business hours from time to time as there is some regional travel.
