As the Director, VACCHO’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and effective functioning of operational processes. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimise our RTO's operations, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and compliance with regulatory standards. With a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver high-quality education and training programs that develop highly skilled employees within the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health and Wellbeing sector in Victoria.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the RTO's processes.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the RTO, including resource allocation, scheduling, reporting, new grant / funding submissions and risk management.
  • Oversee the design, marketing, promotion, commencement, delivery, and quality of the courses delivered by VACCHO RTO.
  • Develop strategy to grow the RTO student numbers.
  • In conjunction with Executive Director, support the organisation's fiscal activities, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including those pertaining to Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Skills First contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for program improvement and innovation.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and staff management including responsibility for effective service delivery, staff capacity building, and creating and maintaining an effective and highly motivated team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality framework and regulatory requirements, including Victorian and Federal Funding Programs and contractual requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement operational strategies that drive organisational success.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience leading and motivating teams to achieve objectives.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience using Microsoft applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project Management) combined with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Proven track record of driving organisational change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply as your cultural and lived experiences are central to the work we do.
  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher.

Highly Regarded

  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and commitment to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and health.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal peoples, Communities, and organisations, in a culturally safe, and appropriate, manner.
  • Demonstrated understanding of LGBTQIASB+ issues and experience with LGBTQIASB+ people via professional engagement, employment or lived experience.
