The United Workers Union is seeking to employ a highly motivated Pre-Press Digital Print Operator for fast paced and short deadline print room to be based in our Brisbane office.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Can use design and productivity software – Adobe CC, Office 365 to prepare jobs for printing.
• Can fix and edit designs sent in by internal and external clients.
• Can process and manage printing and merchandise jobs/orders with a high degree of accuracy in high demand situations.
• Can coordinate and assist requests for printing including obtaining and generating quotes.
• Can operate and maintain relevant printing machines (Konica Digital Printing and HP wide format experience advantageous)
• Can provide high level customer service skills including managing client expectations when taking enquiries and refer matters appropriately for follow-up.
• Can interpret and apply relevant policies and or standard operating procedures in their work.
• Can identify and manage workplace health and safety risks.
• Can identify and take opportunities to build the business including adapting existing processes, understand the direction of the industry and finding new clients.
• Some heavy lifting required.
• Print finishing experience would be advantageous Folding, cutting, collating, table work, weeding stickers.
• Booking and tacking of shipments for customer enquiries high amount of overnight shipping required and urgent work.
• Cleaning and maintaining factory space.

To perform this job, you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain:

•  Right of Entry Permits
• Immunisation against COVID-19 or have a medical exemption

KEY RESPONSiBILITIES

The Pre-Press Digital Print Operator demonstrates:

• Passion and drive to improve workers’ lives and help grow the union movement.
• Be able to appropriately manage workflow in extreme high demand situations.
• Able to trouble shoot workflow glitches appropriately to manage client expectations.

• Experience in high level digital print
• A willingness to learn new skills and grow in the role.

REMUNERATION

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, which will include:

• Salary commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience.
• 16% superannuation.
• 6 weeks annual leave plus 25% leave loading.
