The Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on Client Manager (or experienced Senior Accountant) to lead client accounting and payroll delivery from our Darwin office. You’ll manage a portfolio of Indigenous business clients, review bookkeeping and payroll outputs, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across day-to-day operations.

This role is about relationships, accountability, and cultural awareness - supporting clients to meet their obligations and build financial confidence. You’ll work closely with our Tax Manager and report directly to the Principal in Darwin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client accounting and payroll workflows in Xero
  • Review reconciliations, journals, and management reports prepared by the team
  • Act as the primary contact for client communication and queries
  • Monitor workload, budgets, and deadlines in Karbon
  • Ensure client files and documentation are properly maintained in OneDrive
  • Contribute to a respectful, calm, and culturally safe team culture

(Note: BAS and tax lodgments are managed by our Tax Manager.)

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are confident reviewing bookkeeping and payroll work in Xero Practice
  • Have 3+ years’ experience in public practice (Intermediate–Senior level)
  • Understand Australian payroll, superannuation, and Fair Work requirements
  • Communicate clearly and enjoy building trusted client relationships
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and value working with Indigenous organisations
  • Are organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Want to be part of a Darwin-based team with community impact at its core
