The Strategy, Planning and Performance team is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the Women’s Strategic Service Plan 2035, Strategic Plan 2022-2025 and the Organisational (annual) Plan. The team develops these strategies and plans through consultation with our clinical leaders and staff, consumer and volunteers, with our Executive and Board. We report on these various strategies and plans to demonstrate progress toward our vision and purpose including any recommendations set out by these documents. The team also undertakes planning and provides support for teams and projects across the Women’s linked to our Strategic Plan and Organisational Plan. The Strategy team sits within the Clinical Excellence & Systems Improvement Directorate. This Directorate includes a number of in-house Project Managers who work to support the planning and implementation of significant organisational projects, including service model redesign projects, linked to our Strategy.

Your contribution

As part of a small but dynamic team, the Project Officer will support a range of strategic business initiatives including: coordinating quarterly reporting against the Strategic Plan and the Organisational Plan; undertaking external environmental scans; and supporting the planning of and leading multiple projects from concept phase through to completion. These projects may be part of the Strategy, Planning and Performance team’s workplan, or the Clinical Excellence & Systems Improvement Directorate’s workplan.

We are looking for someone with strong communication and people skills, excellent at building relationships, and adaptive style and the ability to handle multiple initiatives at once. Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, enabling us to support our vision of creating healthier futures for women and babies.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Coordinating the collection of data and development of Executive and Board level quarterly reporting against the Strategic Plan and the Organisational Plan
  • Undertaking external environmental scans and contributing to the development of reports and materials to ensure the Women’s is up to date with key external trends
  • Supporting the planning of, collaborating on and/or leading multiple projects including developing and maintaining central project documentation to ensure a clear understanding of the project, purpose, scope & objectives by all project team members
  • Building robust and positive working relationships with key stakeholders, bringing others along on project progress

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic environment, solving problems and building successful collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure they are part of the solution.
  • Ability to manage incoming work with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce and present business-related documentation.
  • Ability to identify and propose effective solutions to problems through proactively seeking information needed to resolve work problems.
  • Ability to digest/synthesise large volumes of information (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Previous experience in the coordination, analysis and reporting of complex data, as well as experience with coordinating high profile projects.

1. COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

In line with the Health Minister's Covid-19 Mandatory Vaccination Order, all workers at the Women's regardless of role, will be required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 or hold an acceptable medical exemption.

2. Influenza Vaccination Requirement

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care.
