Are you passionate about supporting your community?

We are seeking a dedicated Crisis Accommodation Support Worker to join our Tranmere Street Refuge team! You will deliver professional and consistent support to young people who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Additionally, you will support the case management team in the ongoing implementation of case management plans and create a therapeutic environment within the crisis accommodation setting.

Duties

• Engage in opportunities for reflective practice and opportunities for professional development
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all residents residing within the refuge setting
• Assist residents with a range of activities in preparing for independent living
• Deliver high quality support services to young people accessing youth services programs
• Document all client interactions within SAMIS and meet program expectations around case note standard

This is a permanent part-time position, 27 hours per week, based in Fitzroy North, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4 Award.

The ideal candidate will have

• Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences, Welfare or related field with a degree qualification preferred
• Relevant experience in a Social Service environment
• Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army
• Compassion and professionalism in all actions and ethics
• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Current Driver's Licence
