The Role

The role of the Corporate Sustainability function is to work in partnership with team’s across FSI’s global business to deliver and execute on a strategy to effectively manage First Sentier Investors (“FSI”) our Environmental, Social and Governance impacts.

Based in Sydney, the Corporate Sustainability Analyst will report into the Senior Manager Corporate Sustainability. The role will participate as an active member and contributor to the global team and play a key role in reporting, measurement, data management, process development and policy. As member of a small global team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute across all aspects of the function.

High-Level Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute to the development and refresh of the global Corporate Sustainability strategy and take a lead on the data and reporting elements of the implementation plan.
  • Facilitate the data collection and data measurement for the Sustainability Function in collaboration with other team members and the Data Management Team.
  • Lead the collation of content and design for all external and internal reporting including internet content and social media.
  • Supporting the RFP team on key ESG data and reporting
  • Collaborate with Marketing and PR to create relevant communications, including highlighting activities via social media, establishing consistent sustainability messaging, and reporting on activities and performance internally and externally.
  • Lead the development and annual renewal of all Sustainability Policies as well as act as the key liaison point for policies owned by other functions that have a relevance to Corporate Sustainability

About you

You will resonate with being a sought-after data guru who makes information readily accessible and easy to understand. You will also enjoy creating a day to day working environment based on collaboration and the sharing of ideas underpinned with a desire to make other’s roles easier with the right information at the right time.

Key to your success will be your ability to manage large volumes of data, be discerning on priorities and your ability to build effective relationships across a global business. Ideally, you will have prior experience navigating multiple time zones and partnering with highly diverse business divisions. Also recognised as a forward thinker, with the capability to think ahead of the curve, you will enjoy bolstering FSI’s reporting and data capability across all aspects of ESG.

Required Experience

  • Demonstrated interest in Corporate Sustainability issues and trends and strong willingness to advance knowledge.
  • Demonstrated interest in the appropriate regulatory and market trends relating to Corporate Sustainability.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with multiple stakeholders to facilitate the collation, management and reporting of various qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Action oriented with a strong sense of accountability and initiative.
  • Demonstrated collaborative / relationship skills to work effectively across all levels of the global business.
  • Experience contributing to large and highly visible projects that require working across departments and geographies, managing multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Analytical with a track record in solving problems applying effective thinking and decision making.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or leading external reporting requirements (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Global mindset with an ability to adapt approach to local market trends as required.

Please note the successful candidate will be regularly required to attend virtual meetings outside of standard business hours to accommodate time zones. However, FSI operates an outcome-based model and supports open discussions regarding flexibility to support a sustainable work-life balance for all staff. Structurally, they also operate a hybrid working model which allows all staff up to 50% of time working from home.
