Opportunity to lead a small team working together to nurture independence and the vision of a meaningful life for a sociable 42 year old young woman. Her goals are to further build her independence, gain employment, and contribute to her local community and maintain and extend her circle of friendships.
Please note, this role is internally referred to as Key Worker.
The Key worker would be responsible for:
- Supporting the vision to pursue a unique lifestyle through the implementation of formal (paid) and informal (unpaid) supports.
- Investigate a range of employment and other opportunities within her community.
- Roster support, respond to roster queries and replace shifts, work within a budget
- Facilitate and lead a team through team meetings, mentoring, coaching and development.
- Collate and check timesheets fortnightly
- Assist with interviews when required
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to work alongside and advocate for people with a disability, and the capacity to encourage a shared vision around the young woman,
- Demonstrated understanding of what it means to work in right relationship with people with disability, their families and committed others,
- Demonstrated community building approaches in supporting people at risk of marginalisation to pursue a meaningful inclusive life,
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills,
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as to inspire, motivate, coach and supervise a team of support workers
- Ability to think creatively and developmentally to support a young woman to live, work and contribute to her community

Jobseeker Requirements:
- Driver's license and a roadworthy vehicle;
- Yellow card / NDIS clearance check; or the ability to obtain one.
- Covid Vaccination Certificate
- Availability for at least 5 hours per week, with flexibility to respond to calls/texts if staff are unable to attend shift. Also flexibility for evening meetings (once per 3 months)
- Reasonable location to Alderley area – local knowledge of inner Northside and proximity will be well regarded.
