Servants Community Housing manages 4 rooming houses across Kew and Hawthorn in Melbourne. They provide safe, caring communities for people on a Disability Pension, Newstart Allowance or a very low income. Many of the residents have mental illness or drug and alcohol issues.

The role involves managing the day to day operations of a property that includes a rooming house with 29 single males. Management do not have to be in attendance full time during business hours, however they do need the flexibility to be present to liaise with case workers, volunteers, maintenance contractors and accept deliveries (amongst other things!) There is plenty of variety in the role and talking to residents is only part of it. There will be times when vacated rooms need to be cleaned and dishes need washing. We are looking for people that will take pride in the house knowing that it lifts the spirits of our residents.The position is paid approximately 20 hours per week, along with living on-site in a two bedroom flat free of charge with utility expenses covered.

• A positive approach to teamwork and the ability to work autonomously
• Good computer skills
• Satisfactory police check
