St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne are looking for a Cardiac Imaging Fellow for 2021.

St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) is part of St Vincent's Health Australia and a leading teaching, research and tertiary health service which employs more than 5,000 staff across 18 sites throughout Melbourne. SVHM provides a diverse range of adult clinical services including acute medical and surgical services, sub-acute care, medical diagnostics, rehabilitation, allied health, mental health, palliative care, correctional health and community residential care. SVHM is one of Australia's leading Catholic not-for-profit healthcare providers.

This post commences Monday 1 February 2021, and there will be a compulsory Orientation program on this day for all staff new to the Hospital. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have completed three core years of RACP approved training in cardiology or its equivalent.

The Cardiology Department at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne is a busy tertiary referral unit which provides diagnosis, consultation and intervention in all areas of cardiology. The echocardiography laboratory performs transthoracic, stress and transoesophageal echocardiography in hospital inpatients and outpatients using state of the art digital echocardiography equipment and using new techniques such as contrast, 3D echocardiography and myocardial deformation assessment. In addition, the hospital provides cardiac MRI and CT coronary angiography services.

There is an active research program in echocardiography with particular interests in assessment of myocardial function, exercise, heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.

Duties will include participation in the performance and interpretation of all aspects of echocardiography, teaching of medical and technical staff and attendance at a cardiology outpatient clinic. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in clinical research projects.
