About the ORGANISATION

Survivors & Mates Support Network (SAMSN) is a not-for-profit organisation that supports adult male survivors of child sexual abuse, along with their family and friends. SAMSN employs qualified staff to provide a trauma informed and culturally safe approach in its group-work programs, individual support and counselling, community engagement and peer support. We believe male survivors can heal and recover from child sexual abuse, support others to thrive, and be leaders for change.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic person with the right mix of qualifications and interpersonal skills.

To be considered for this role, you will have prior administrative experience and have excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).

This role reports to the General Manager.

This position is part time, 4 days per week for a fixed term to 30th June 2024 with the option to extend depending on future funding. We are also open to consider flexibility.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Answering and processing internal/external calls with a high level of client service
  • Administrative support to the team including reporting, filing and data entry and records management
  • Formatting reports and presentations
  • Arranging travel and venue bookings
  • Maintaining the office supplies and facilities
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of administration systems and procedures.

Position Selection Criteria

Essential

  • A positive, friendly and professional disposition with the ability to liaise with people at all levels
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to problem solve
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and previous CRM experience
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information
  • Advanced attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A current National Police Check and Working with Children Check

Desirable

  • An understanding of the effects of child sexual abuse
  • Experience within the Not-for-profit sector
