To complement the global efforts of Australian Red Cross, the International Delegate and Volunteer Services (IDVS) team strategically recruits, selects, trains, supports and manages people working internationally in the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
Australian Volunteers for International Development is an Australian Government, AusAID initiative. Australian Red Cross is a core partner in the AVID program.
As the Australian Red Cross representative for the AVID program in Timor Leste, you will manage stakeholder relationships, collaborate with partner organisations and ensure volunteer well being and support. In this role, you will set the tone and character of the program in Timor Leste and serve as role model for volunteers.
As the AVID Country Manager, you will be responsible for managing the AVID program to meet identified development needs. You will support volunteers as they adjust and continue to live and work in local communities. Key roles will include developing relationships including with AusAID, Timor Leste Red Cross Society (CVTL) and partner agencies; advising on country needs and opportunities; identifying and assisting suitable host organisations, developing quality volunteer assignments and managing effective office and support systems.

To be successful in this role you will have program and people management experience in an international capacity and be very organised. The role requires excellent relationship and influencing skills and a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and coach people through adversity. Domestic and international travel, and after-hours, emergency on-call duties are an inherent requirement for this role.
