We are seeking expressions of interest to join our board.

Relationships Australia (NSW) Limited (RANSW) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to enhancing relationships within families and their communities, fostering personal and social wellbeing. We have centres located across NSW that offer a range of different support options.

We are committed to building our support for all families and individuals, including those who are in greatest need, facing complex issues and have limited access to resources and services.

RANSW is a company limited by guarantee, a registered charity, and is governed by a Board elected from our membership. We are looking for an experienced individual known for their career success at Board or senior management levels in the social services sector to fill a Non-Executive Director vacancy.

You will be enthused by the important work we do and bring to the Board your understanding of the machinery of government, policy making and not-for-profit funding processes together with your informal and formal networks and connections that will assist RANSW in its advocacy and impact.

Details are:

• Board appointments are for an initial three-year term with the option to re-stand for election for a further two terms
• Six scheduled Board meetings per year
• Four to six Committee meetings per year
• Annual Board & Management strategy planning workshop, usually over 1.5 days
• Directors are remunerated

Your Key Attributes

Ideally, as our new Director, you will enhance the diversity of our Board, in line with the diversity of the people and communities we support and strengthen the financial skills of our Board. There is an opportunity for the new Director to join our Finance and Risk Committee, potentially as the Committee’s Chair. In recent years RANSW has established subsidiary entities, entered in a joint venture partnership and embarked on an internal multi-million business transformation programme.

In addition to the above, your work experience, skills and knowledge in the following areas will be important in our selection process:

• Non-executive director or executive/senior management experience in an organisation of similar size or larger than RANSW
• Experience within the fields of work that RANSW covers
• Knowledge of NFP funding processes including access to informal and formal networks and connections that would assist RANSW
• Ability to work with a team in a respectful, collegiate and collaborative manner
